My struggle with Selective Mutism

I don’t know if many people even know what selective mutism is. It’s basically an extreme social anxiety where the person with it is unable to talk in certain situations, and to be honest, even though I’ve had it for most of my life, I still don’t know a lot about it. Some of those who do know about it think that it only happens in children, but guess what? Children grow up!! And if a child with selective mutism isn’t treated when they’re young, this condition is, most likely, going to follow them into their adult life.
